INTERNATIONAL MATERIAL DATA SYSTEM (IMDS)
The End of Life Vehicle Directive is a regulation the European Union established to address the environmental impact of end-of-life vehicles. The International Material Data System was created to serve as a material aggregation tool for the various reporting requirements initiated by the 2000/53/EC Directive. The IMDS system also provides a means to identify components or parts that may contain dangerous or hazardous substances, like the chemicals or elements specified by the RoHS or REACh directives.
High Performance Seals is adept in setting up and submitting materials and components in the IMDS system. Most IMDS submission requests are generated with the automotive industry’s PPAP process. Stand-alone IMDS requests are also honored. Contact us for more information about the IMDS System and High Performance Seals.
